Through some very difficult periods in Alice's life, God has redirected Alice's focus from drawing solely for creative pleasure and 'sanity therapy' to that of ministry and encouragement. The Lord is also using this same art in conjunction with public speaking to further encourage, challenge, motivate and inspire women to become the masterpieces- uniquely and wonderfully made as God intends.
As time and experiences have passed Alice has written a selection of Speaking Topics. If you would be interested in having Alice as a speaker please email us at alice@aliceart.net or phone Alice at 309.925.2505. Below you will find her current speaking topics:
"Motherhood: Becoming God's Masterpiece" looks at several of Alice's favorite drawings. As the audience views these graphite pencil drawing, she candidly shares the stories that helped birth each of these illustrations and transparently discloses what God has been and is teaching her through both the difficult times as well as the humorous times as a wife and mother. Alice is quick to admit she is a work in progress. Through her transparency as a mother and wife, she encourages and helps women to see and realize that they too are a work in progress- becoming God's masterpieces.
"Can I Trust the Hands of the Maker?" This includes a look at the "Hands of God" as mentioned throughout scripture and focuses in on the visual pictures presented in Isaih 49: 15, 16 "I will not forget you. See, I have engraved you on the palms of My hands." God values each woman so intensely that He has engraved her name on the palm of His hand. As we learn truths about God's hands we are learning truths about God himself. This gives us truth to fall back on when our faith is challenged.
"How Moldable are You?" This talk challenges us to view ourselves as clay that God is molding into a useful vessel. By looking at actual Biblical references to the Potter and the clay, I consider different responses that we may have as God is molding us. With Scripture as our guide we will learn how God can M- O- L- D us into His beautiful useful workmanship.
"Blessings out of Sorrow" (Grief support) Sympathy is not giving advice or offering quick, cosmetic help. Instead sympathy is entering in and sharing the pain of others. Through sharing my story and various pieces of artwork, I hope to come alongside the listener and acknowledge two fundamental needs: 1-that we as a griever need to be understood and 2-we need to have our feelings validated. Along with these needs, I challenge women to allow God to work in our lives to use this painful thing to make us better not bitter and to not loose hope that God will bring blessings out of sorrow as we continue to daily hold onto His hand and learn to praise Him.
"Christmas Talk": Specifically designed for MOPS groups, this presentation combines 5 of Alice's Christmas drawings with a look at the real meaning of Christmas and the original Gift-giver. With each of her drawings and it's key thought, Alice shares one of their Craig family Christmas traditions.
Discussion questions are available as well for the small group discussion times following.
